Software & Algorithms Engineer, Cloud Tools Specialist

The Role

The Software & Algorithms Engineer will support our extraordinary, large-scale, 3D-printed manufacturing process. The best candidate will know how to apply software to design, develop, and maintain software used to create and print parts in our unique and patented C-Fab® process. In particular, this position will be responsible for the development of a cloud-based sales tool to allow clients to create and evaluate custom designs.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify applications using C++ and similar object-oriented languages, both as standalone applications and within frameworks for CAD/designer plug-in packages.
•  Create and modify cloud-based applications utilizing JavaScript and similar web-oriented technologies. 
•  Create and maintain cloud resources on AWS or Google Cloud. 
• Collaborate on software development, evaluation, system integration, testing, and support. 
•  Maintain and develop software requirements and design specifications.
• Communicate on a regular basis with internal users and team members.
•  Integrate software efforts within the overall customer program to ensure deliverables are attainable within the company’s constraints and guidelines. 
• Work in a team environment with only moderate direction. 

Requirements

1. 4+ years of experience in software development/engineering 
2. Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technology field 
3. Demonstrable command of object-oriented software development in C++ and similar languages 
4. Demonstrable command of cloud-based software development including the associated DevOps 
5. Understanding of agile and traditional approaches to software development 6. Effective written and verbal skills 

Desirables

1. Experience building websites with Node.js, three.js, and React/Inferno 
2. Experience with C++, C#, Python, or generic programming 
3. Experience building Node.js native add-ons 
4. Experience with Git, CMake, and Doxygen 
5. Demonstrable experience with CAD/design software 
6. Experience with 3D printing and robotic technologies 
7. Familiarity with computational grid generation
